I’m Sreejesh S Nair, a Masters student from Department of Design IIT Roorkee, I worked in the CI Lab as a part of my summer internship. I worked on an exploratory project titled HapTiles, comprising of small multimodal modules – for providing multimodal sensations of touch through vibration motors for vibration, and chromium wire for temperature – that snap, clip or latch onto any object or accessory. By transforming everyday objects like handles, straps, zippers, etc. into haptic interfaces, to quickly prototype tactile feedback by removing the barrier of specialized hardware in the situation.
